Tennessee's Corker is "all heart"

Tennessee Senator Bob Corker, a Republican, dismissed President Obama's health care speech as "full of platitudes." (See below)

Easy for him to say that. Corker is one of the richest of our U.S. senators. No health insurance concerns for him.

But what about his constituents, the people of Tennessee? Most of us are not as rich as he is. Nor do we have access to the health care options availabe to him as a U.S. senator.

What about "government: of the people, by the people, for the people...," Senator Corker?

A side note about the rich from Wiki Quotes:

Ernest Hemingway is responsible for a famous misquotation of (F. Scott) Fitzgerald's. According to Hemingway, a conversation between him and Fitzgerald went:

Fitzgerald: The rich are different than you and me.
Hemingway: Yes, they have more money.

This never actually happened; it is a retelling of an actual encounter between Hemingway and Mary Colum, which went as follows:

Hemingway: I am getting to know the rich.
Colum: I think you’ll find the only difference between the rich and other people is that the rich have more money.

The full quotation is found in Fitzgerald's words in his short story "The Rich Boy" (1926), paragraph 3:

"Let me tell you about the very rich. They are different from you and me. They possess and enjoy early, and it does something to them, makes them soft, where we are hard, cynical where we are trustful, in a way that, unless you were born rich, it is very difficult to understand."

Unlike the late Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA) , it appears that our wealthy Republican senators, Corker and Lamar Alexander) have no concern whatsoever about those of us "born not rich." This also appears to be the case with Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) who represents one of the wealthiest districts in the United States (in Williamson County, TN).
